Deputies arrest 2 folks at hashish develop web site, hash oil lab in Bonsall

Sheriff’s agents arrested two people and confiscated hundreds of pounds of cannabis and cannabis products on Thursday while raiding an allegedly illegal grower in Bonsall.

Representatives from the department’s Fallbrook crime-fighting team and detectives from the department’s marijuana enforcement team served the warrant around 7 a.m. on the property on North River Road just west of State Route 76, Deputy Lester Garman said.

The sheriff’s staff arrested the two suspects on crime charges related to an active investigation of the growing area and booked them into the county jail. Their names were not published.

MPs also seized 550 pounds of processed cannabis, 11 pounds of concentrated cannabis and 17 pounds of THC-infused edibles, Garman said. Investigators also confiscated over 200 fentanyl tablets, 40 ecstasy tablets, $ 7,128 in cash and three firearms, one of which was reported as stolen.

Authorities also found a butane hash oil laboratory and “numerous hazardous materials” that were recovered by dangerous goods teams.

Hash oil – also known as honey oil and often consumed in e-cigarettes and cannabis edible products like cookies – is extracted from marijuana plants using butane. The highly flammable gas makes the process dangerous, say the authorities.
