The Southern Grampians Shire Council will be rolling out a new park initiative as we get out of lockdown this weekend.
From tomorrow, Friday, September 10th through Thursday, September 30th, drivers can park for free in the Hamilton CBD.
Southern Grampians Shire Council Mayor Bruach Colliton said the council has pledged to support the community and local businesses and increase spending and visits to our CBD.
“The past year has been incredibly tough for CBD companies and we’re doing all we can to deliver a much-needed boost by drawing more people to the city and encouraging them to stay longer.
“We look forward to being able to offer free parking spaces throughout the CBD in the next few weeks. We call on all locals to support our local retailers and hospitality providers and really enjoy what Hamilton has to offer.
“This initiative is in addition to our recently completed outdoor dining area at the front of the Hamilton Library. Given the restrictions on innkeepers, this district is the perfect opportunity to have a coffee and a bite to eat at a local coffee shop and still relax with the family in the CBD, ”said Cr Colliton.
To ensure that parking spaces are available for all residents and visitors, time limits continue to apply in the parking lots.
