Aurora appoints Theresa Firestone as independent director and expands the board to nine members
Canadian cannabis giant Aurora Cannabis Inc. (NASDAQ: ACB) (TSX: ACB) tapped Theresa Firestone as the new independent director earlier this week.
Firestone, who previously held several senior healthcare positions in Canada, Europe and Asia, honed her Knowledge of various sectors such as retail, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and government.
All over her 15 years with Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) has held senior positions and on other occasions worked at Shoppers Drug Mart and the Ontario Department of Health.
“We are pleased to welcome Theresa to our board of directors”, Ronald Funk, chairman from Aurora Cannabis said. “She brings us extensive expertise in health management and pharmaceuticals, global corporate restructuring, new business development and a proven ability to lead and manage change.”
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam appoints five experts to the Cannabis Control Board
Last week, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam chose the ffive members of the Cannabis Control Authority, who will oversee the legal marijuana marketing program in CTwrites Marijuana Business Daily.
That The CCA Board of Directors will be chaired by Neil Amin, CEO of Shamin Hotels. L.onw Company owner Michael Jerome Massie agreed to act as vice chairman.
Other board members are:
- Bette brand, CEO of Strategic Consulting and former Assistant Secretary of State for Rural Development, Administrator of the Rural Business-Cooperative Service and Acting Administrator of the Rural Utility Service at the Department of Agriculture.
- Rasheeda N. Creighton, Co-founder of the Jackson Ward Collective.
- Shane Emmett, Co-founder and former CEO of Health Warrior, a health brand recently created by. was bought PepsiCo Inc. (NASDAQ: PEP).
Northam also named members of the Cannabis Equity Reinvestment Board and the Cannabis Public Health Advisory Board.
Operational Security Solutions appoints new CEO
Leading risk management company focused on cannabis Operational security solutions recently revealed that Scott Solomon, its chief operating officer, has been named CEO.
The Fresno, California-based company’s board of directors selected Solomon, who has been with the company since it was founded in 2017.
In addition, Robert Simpson, a former managing partner, agreed to take on an advisory role on the company’s board of directors.
“Scott is uniquely positioned to build on our California dominance to fuel our US expansion efforts, including expanding OSS into East Coast markets in conjunction with the launch of our newest division, OSS East, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.” Said Simpson last week. “With Scott’s formidable federal government expertise, including more than 25 years managing grants and contracts for a variety of federal agencies and universities, we are confident that Scott is a perfect fit for the position.”

NuSachi appoints Margaret Dolan to its board of directors
