- Fear, says Michael Burgos, prevents people from getting help at all
- Today both veterans train other veterans and show them – there are other options
Burgos says when veterans make appointments with him, they are tired of their struggle with PTSD.
“They say, ‘I’ve tried everything else. How can you possibly help me?'” Said Burgos.
Then the Navy veteran met a new customer and Navy veteran Zack Zindler, who presented him with an alternative.
Zindler is the owner of Native Ceuticals Tampa CBD company.
“I took a lot of pills because I was a disabled veteran,” said Zindler.
Zindler says his mental health didn’t improve until he started using CBD.
“I’ve gone from pessimism to optimism,” he adds.
Today both veterans train and show other veterans – there are other options.
“I know that CBD can help drastically with anxiety,” added Burgos.
Fear, says Burgos, prevents people from getting help at all. He has applied for an outpatient nursing license with the VA.
“It allows the VA to send people to us for treatment,” he said.
And while Zindler says this is a step in the right direction. There is still more to be done.
“I see this is such a big issue of veteran suicide,” he said. “Narcotics prescriptions have increased, but it has not affected the veteran’s suicide rate.”
Meanwhile, Zindler applied to the VA for the Disabled Veteran’s Seal, which would give him access to government contracts.
“I see this is such a huge veteran suicide problem and psychoactive drug prescriptions have increased, but it has not affected the veteran suicide rate,” said Marine Veteran Zack Zindler. Native Ceuticals CEO has educated veterans about PTSD treatments with hemp. @ BN9 pic.twitter.com/FbLILRUUJ5
