Hemp Exec Will not Defend Co. From Default Loss in TM Case

Law360 (July 29, 2021, 6:00 PM EDT) – The CEO of a hemp company in Kentucky has notified a federal judge that he will not defend his unresponsive business partner or company against allegations that they have violated a hemp product retailer’s brand name.

In a response filed on Wednesday, Jeremy Luciano, CEO of Industrial Hemp Solutions, which operates as Global Hemp Solutions, admitted that default judgments in favor of Global Hemp Inc. and its co-defendants would not prevent him from pursuing his own defense. However, he asked the court to carefully examine Global Hemp’s claim for damages.
