MINT HILL, NC – According to the American Kennel Club, there are currently no formal studies of CBD oil for dogs. Of course, we know that dogs like us have an ECS that is responsible for maintaining balance in the body, and CBD interacts with this system, so some parallels and assumptions have been drawn between human and dog experiences with CBD.
A 2019 review anonymously interviewed Canadian pet owners asking about their reasons for buying cannabis products for their dogs and their perceptions of the effectiveness of those products. Respondents said they bought cannabis products to treat either pain, inflammation, or stress, or a combination of the three. They found their cannabis products to be equal to or more effective than conventional drugs. While this is anecdotal evidence, it shows that CBD oil’s ability to help our canine friends holds great promise.
