Nepra Meals, Maker of Modern Textured Hemp Protein, Enters US Securities Market – vegconomist

Nepra Foods is a Colorado-based plant-based company that makes allergen-friendly old protein products and snacks made from hemp. After a successful IPO in Canada in September this year, the company has just entered the US securities market.

Nepra’s initial public offering on the Canadian Securities Exchange was oversubscribed for $ 7.5 million at an offering price of $ 0.47. At the same time, the company was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Now, just two months later, the company has entered the US OTC Pink Market under the trading symbol NPRFF. The listing gives Nepra access to a broader group of investors and increases the convenience of trading within the USA.

About Nepra Foods

Nepra produces a range of herbal, allergen-free ingredients used by major brands that are in stock at major supermarket chains such as Walmart, Costco, Target and Safeway. The company also launches a range of consumer products, including high protein ready meals, vegan cream cheese, and aged meat.

Recently, Nepra launched a proprietary ingredient that it describes as “breakthrough” – textured hemp protein, or THP. Conventional TVP is usually made from soy, wheat, or pea proteins, but because they are common allergens, they are not available to everyone.

Benefits of hemp

Hemp, on the other hand, is allergen-free and has an excellent nutritional profile. It is rich in protein and fiber, contains all essential amino acids and has an optimal ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids. It’s also GMO-free and has a neutral taste that makes it ideal for use in meat alternatives. In addition, hemp is inherently resistant to pests and therefore does not require pesticides.

Companies around the world such as the Israeli Sustainable Agricultural Technologies Limited and the New Zealand Craft Meat Company are also working on hemp-based meat alternatives, but the idea has yet to come through in the USA. Nepra’s THP could help change that.

As the company continued to expand, it began work on a new 31,000 square foot facility in Colorado for manufacturing and research and development. Among other things, the plant will have special equipment for the production of THP.

“This new, dedicated room provides our team of world-class experts, led by Chief Technology Officer Chadwick White, with the safe working environment they need for research, development and testing while protecting the confidentiality of our intellectual property,” said Nepra CEO David Holz . “It also offers much-needed real estate to meet our production goals.”
