New pub authorized for Hurstville CBD | St George & Sutherland Shire Chief

The Hurstville CBD will receive a new pub valued at $ 3.2 million last month following approval of a DA by the Georges River Planning Panel last month.

The pub is planned for level one of the new 14-story One Hurstville Plaza office building at 288 Forest Road, opposite the entrance to Hurstville Railway Station.

It will feature 30 slot machines and 721 square meters of indoor and 339 square meters of outdoor deck overlooking Hurstville Plaza and Forest Road.

There will be a main cocktail bar (which will also serve food) and a smaller game room bar. The alfresco dining includes a private garden to the east and an integrated retractable shade structure.

The slot machines will be located off the front of Forest Road and Hurstville Plaza.

The game room is located on the north side of the building. Planters will line the balustrade of the western balcony to dress up the playroom

The DA suggests the following extended trading hours for a 12 month trial period.

Permitted operating times are: indoor areas 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. (Monday to Sunday); Outside areas on the forest road: 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. (Monday to Sunday). Outdoor areas (in front of Hurstville Plaza) 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Sunday through Thursday), 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (Friday to Saturday). External (Gaming Lounge), 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Monday to Sunday).

The panel approved a management plan for the new pub that includes CCTV, security and noise control measures.

The maximum number of people on the site at the same time is 350 guests and 30 employees.

The planning committee concluded that the planned pub would not have any unacceptable negative effects on the surrounding area and was compatible with the future character of the area.
