Two female suspects were arrested by police in Delta state with 700 packages of substance suspected of being Indian hemp.
The suspects, Elo Edinburh and Joy Edinburh, were arrested during a raid on suspected drug dealers’ hideout in Ozoro Township, Isoko North Township of the state.
The acting PR officer of the state police command DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the arrest on Sunday in Asaba.
In addition to the 700 packs, Edafe said, 29 packs aloud, one pack aloud, 33 ties of cocaine ice cream, six pieces of hard molybdenum drugs, two bags of tramadol, 13 capsules of swinol and 14 packs of Rizler were found.
He also confirmed the arrest of a couple in illegitimate gun possession in Alifekede, a border town between the states of Edo and Delta.
Edafe said agents from Safer Highway Patrol Team 018 were conducting a search when they found a Samuel Ikpi ‘m’ aged 28 who lives in the new town of Odigbo Ondo State and Eunice Samuel ‘f’ aged 25 who claimed to be intercepted and arrested the wife of the first suspect.
“During the search, a locally made revolver pistol and a locally made handgun with its two cartridges were found.
“Other items that were recovered are five Android phones, a power bank, 25 SIM cards from various networks and an HP laptop.
“Preliminary investigations have shown that the suspect is a member of the Aro Barger Brotherhood.”
